Chapter 35 - The Anatomy of the Shadow Coalition

Inside the central conference annex of the command hub, the ambient lighting had shifted to a crisp, clinical white. The massive central holographic projector was no longer displaying regional tactical maps or orbital trajectories; instead, it rendered an intricate, branching tree of organizational charts, biometric profiles, and secure communication nodes—the entire administrative anatomy of the defeated shadow coalition.
Mara stood at the head of the polished steel table, leaning forward slightly with her hands braced against the surface as she studied the glowing red dossiers hovering in mid-air. Thomas and Julian sat to her left and right, their tablets rapidly sorting through the massive influx of decrypted files.
"The scope of their contingency network was wider than our initial models suggested," Thomas noted, scrolling through a dense list of subterranean bunkers and hidden offshore supply caches spanning three continents. "They weren't just planning to reclaim the Atlantic; they had sleeper assets embedded in industrial hubs across Europe, Asia, and the southern hemisphere. If we hadn't captured their master keys in orbit, these cells would have awakened in a staggered sequence over the next five years, sparking coordinated insurgencies everywhere."
"They planned for a slow, methodical subversion of a world they no longer understood," Mara replied coldly, her gaze locked on the profile of Commander Vane and his surviving senior officers, who were currently being held in high-security containment cells three levels below. "They expected a fractured, terrified population ready to bow to old-world authority. They didn't count on a sovereign who had already unified the ashes."
Julian pulled up a detailed schematic of an industrial complex located deep within the interior of the European sector. "According to these manifests, their largest remaining manufacturing cache is located in a subterranean vault beneath the Swiss Alps—codenamed 'Project Chimera.' It houses automated assembly lines capable of producing heavy military hardware and advanced energy cells."
Mara straightened up, her expression hardening into absolute resolve. "A vault that is currently unprotected, since their command structure in orbit has been completely dismantled." She turned her gaze toward Marcus, who stood near the primary diagnostic console. "Marcus, how long to reconfigure our orbital kinetic grid to provide close-air fire support over the European sector?"

"Standard calculations indicate twelve hours for orbital realignments, My Liege," Marcus answered immediately. "However, with the quantum core running at peak efficiency, we can compress that window to four hours."
Mara offered a fierce, unyielding smile. "Four hours it is. Prepare the transport fleet. We are going to clean out the last nest of the old world once and for all."
