Chapter 4 - The Dangerous Trap.

Elena suggested that Mark should pretend he knew nothing about the secret text messages or the forged signature.
"You need to call Richard and tell him that Victoria was arrested, but act like you are completely overwhelmed and need his help," Elena advised smartly.
Mark agreed with the brilliant plan, picking up his phone and dialing his treacherous business partner's personal number.
Richard answered on the second ring, his voice sounding entirely too calm and collected for a normal morning.
"Mark! I just saw the horrifying news on television! Are you and the baby okay?" Richard asked, playing the role of a concerned friend perfectly.
"I am a mess, Richard. Victoria is in jail, and I need you to come to the house tonight to help me sort through my personal finances," Mark lied smoothly.
"Of course, Mark. I will bring all the necessary documents and be there by eight o'clock," Richard promised before hanging up.
As soon as the call ended, David began setting up hidden high-definition cameras and sensitive audio microphones inside Mark's private study.
They were going to catch Richard attempting to cover his tracks on crystal clear, undeniable video.
Meanwhile, Elena went to the kitchen to prepare Lily's afternoon bottle, her mind entirely focused on keeping the baby safe.
As she opened the pantry, she noticed that a brand new, sealed container of baby formula had a tiny, almost invisible puncture hole near the bottom.
Her heart completely stopped, and a cold sweat broke out across her forehead.
She carefully opened the container and sifted through the white powder, finding small, dissolved crystals that smelled faintly of bitter almonds.
Victoria had not just planned to drop the baby; she had poisoned the backup formula just in case her physical attack failed.
Elena grabbed the container and ran straight to Mark's office, her hands shaking violently.
"Mark, look at this! She poisoned the formula! If I had fed this to Lily, she would have died instantly!" Elena cried, tears of horror welling in her eyes.
Mark stared at the poisoned milk, a dark, murderous fury taking over his entire soul.

He realized that Victoria and Richard were not just greedy criminals; they were cold-blooded, heartless monsters who deserved absolutely no mercy.
When Richard arrived at the mansion tonight, Mark was not just going to expose him; he was going to utterly destroy him.
