Chapter 12 - The Corporate Infiltration
The very next morning, Mark sat at the head of the massive glass table in the corporate boardroom of Carter Industries.
He was reviewing the incredibly successful quarterly profits with his newly appointed, highly vetted executive team.
Suddenly, the heavy glass doors swung open, and Julian Hastings walked right into the private meeting completely uninvited.
David instantly stepped forward, his hand resting defensively on his tactical belt, totally ready to remove the arrogant intruder.
"Who are you, and how did you get past the lobby security?" Mark demanded fiercely, standing up from his leather chair.
Julian merely smiled, tossing a thick stack of incredibly complex legal documents directly onto the center of the table.
"I am Julian Hastings, and as of this morning, I am the majority shareholder of the offshore holding company that owns your primary manufacturing patents," Julian announced smoothly.
Mark felt a sudden, sickening drop in his stomach as he rapidly scanned the highly technical legal papers.
Before Victoria was arrested, she had secretly transferred crucial corporate assets to a shadow company controlled entirely by the Hastings family.
"You have absolutely no right to be here. Those transfers were completely fraudulent!" Mark shouted, his eyes burning with intense anger.
"The courts will take at least five years to untangle this legal web, Mark. Until then, I sit on your board, and I have the power to veto every single financial decision you make," Julian threatened coldly.

"I am going to slowly bleed your empire entirely dry, Carter, and there is absolutely nothing your security guards can do to stop me," Julian whispered.
