Chapter 17 - The Final Arrest

Sirens wailed incredibly loudly in the distance, rapidly approaching the dark airfield as the local police responded to David's emergency signal.
Julian slowly lowered his weapon, dropping entirely to his knees on the metal stairs in total, absolute defeat.
David stepped forward swiftly, kicking the silver pistol far away and violently pulling Julian's expensive jacket behind his back.
"You are going to share a very small, incredibly dark cell with your wicked aunt," David growled, locking heavy steel handcuffs tightly around Julian's wrists.
Mark stood over the completely broken man, feeling an overwhelming, powerful sense of absolute closure wash over him.
The Hastings family had tried to steal his fortune, murder his innocent child, and completely destroy his happy life.
But they had entirely failed, defeated by a powerful family built on deep loyalty, absolute brilliance, and unconditional love.
As the heavy police cruisers finally surrounded the jet with flashing red and blue lights, Mark handed his weapon to the lead detective.

"It is completely over, David. Let's go home to our family," Mark said softly, breathing out a long, highly relieved sigh.
David nodded warmly, patting Mark strongly on the back as they walked away from the terrified, completely ruined Julian Hastings.
