Chapter 15 - Forever Crowned in Blood, Gold, and Endless Love

Six months later, St. Patrick’s Cathedral in the historic North End of Boston was closed to the public for the most anticipated wedding in the city’s history.
Hundreds of white roses lined the grand aisle. The pews were filled with dignitaries, community leaders, and the entire Moretti family, all standing at attention in sharp black attire.
At the altar stood Dominic Moretti, looking breathtakingly handsome in a custom midnight-blue tuxedo. Beside him stood Leo, grinning from ear to ear.
The grand pipe organ swelled with the triumphant chords of the wedding march.
The double doors of the cathedral opened, and the entire congregation stood up.
Chloe walked down the aisle, radiant beyond words. Her gown was a masterwork of French lace and pure white silk, with a ten-foot cathedral train trailing behind her. On her head rested a delicate platinum tiara encrusted with emeralds, catching the golden light streaming through the stained-glass windows.
Dominic watched her approach, tears openly sliding down his cheeks. The ruthless Don of Boston had been completely conquered by the courageous waitress who had dared to save his life with a scribbled receipt.
When her hand was placed in his, Dominic leaned in and whispered, “You are the queen of my life, little bird.”
“And you are my king,” she whispered back, her smile illuminating the entire cathedral.
The archbishop spoke the ancient vows, and when the moment came, Dominic slipped a massive, flawless ten-carat diamond ring onto Chloe’s finger—a symbol of eternal love, absolute protection, and unbreakable devotion.
“I pronounce you husband and wife,” the priest declared. “You may kiss the bride.”
Dominic wrapped his arm around Chloe’s waist, dipping her gracefully as he captured her lips in a deep, passionate kiss that brought the entire cathedral to a standing, roaring ovation.
Later that evening, at the grand reception at the Moretti coastal estate, Dominic and Chloe stood together on the private balcony, watching the fireworks explode in brilliant shades of gold, emerald, and crimson over the Atlantic Ocean.
Dominic stood behind her, wrapping his arms around her waist, resting his chin on her shoulder.
“Are you happy, Mrs. Moretti?” he murmured in her ear.
Chloe leaned back against his strong chest, looking down at the glittering diamond on her finger, then up at the stars glowing brightly in the midnight sky.

“I have everything I ever dreamed of,” Chloe smiled, turning in his arms to kiss his lips. “From a three-second warning... to forever.”
