Chapter 17 - The Traitor’s End

The joy of the pregnancy gave Gunther a terrifying, laser-focused clarity.

He was no longer just fighting for his territory or his pride.

He was fighting for the future of his child.

The next morning, Victor called with the news Gunther had been waiting for.

"We found Dante," Victor reported, his voice devoid of any warmth.

"He is hiding in an abandoned warehouse on the edge of the industrial district."

"Lorenzo is with him."

Gunther hung up the phone and walked into his massive walk-in closet.

He bypassed his tailored suits and pulled out a heavy black tactical vest.

Kayla stood in the doorway, watching him gear up with quiet apprehension.

She did not ask him to stay.

She knew this was the only way to ensure their child would grow up in peace.

Gunther walked over to her and kissed her softly on the lips.

"I will be home for dinner," he promised entirely.

"You better be," she whispered, straightening the collar of his dark shirt.

Gunther left the estate with three black SUVs filled with his most elite mercenaries.

They surrounded the abandoned warehouse in absolute silence.

There was no negotiation.

There were no warnings.

Gunther and Victor breached the heavy steel doors simultaneously.

Dante and Lorenzo’s men scrambled for their weapons, but they were cut down before they could fire a single shot.

The warehouse became a slaughterhouse of deafening gunfire and smoke.

Gunther moved relentlessly, an unstoppable force of nature protecting his bloodline.

He cornered Lorenzo and Dante near the back exit.

Dante dropped his weapon immediately, falling to his knees and holding up his hands.

"Boss, please!" Dante begged, tears streaming down his face.

"They forced me to do it!"

Victor walked up behind Dante and put a single bullet through the back of the traitor's head.

Gunther did not even blink at the execution.

He kept his cold eyes locked entirely on Lorenzo Costa.
