Chapter 7 - Unearthing The Secret Vault Beneath Rosalyn’s Country Estate

With both Rosalyn and Brandon locked up without bail, Evelyn Cross moved with surgical precision. Armed with the evidence of wire fraud, witness intimidation, and the emergency civil freeze order on the Thorne family assets, Evelyn secured a court-authorized search warrant for Rosalyn’s 12,000-square-foot country estate.

I accompanied Detective Hayes and a team of forensic accountants to the mansion to identify stolen personal property and help catalog financial records.

Walking back into that house was like stepping into a tomb. The air was stale, the expensive chandeliers hung over silent marble floors, and the nursery room where Liam was supposed to grow up was cold and sterile.

"Hannah, down here," Detective Hayes called from the basement wine cellar.

I walked down the stone stairs into the climate-controlled cellar. Behind a row of antique oak wine racks, the forensic team had discovered a heavy steel wall safe built directly into the foundation.

A locksmith spent forty minutes cracking the electronic keypad. When the heavy door swung open, the contents inside made Detective Hayes whistle in disbelief.

Stacked neatly inside were dozens of leather-bound ledgers, over $300,000 in banded cash, three foreign passports under assumed names for Brandon and Rosalyn, and a thick folder labeled: Hannah - Trust Liquidation & Guardianship Strategy.

I pulled out the folder and opened it with trembling hands.

Inside were drafted legal petitions dated six months before Liam was even born. Brandon and Rosalyn had hired a corrupt private psychologist to draft pre-written evaluations claiming I was suffering from severe bipolar disorder and borderline personality traits. They had forged my signature on medical release forms and drafted a power of attorney that would have transferred all my legal and financial rights to Rosalyn upon giving birth.

"Look at this date," I said, showing Hayes the document. "They started planning this the week after our pregnancy test came back positive."

"This is premeditated conspiracy to commit human trafficking and financial fraud," Hayes said, placing the folder directly into an evidence box. "Hannah, this isn't just a divorce case anymore. This is a multi-count federal indictment. Brandon and his mother aren't going to county jail. They are going to federal prison for a very long time."

As I looked around the lavish cellar built on stolen lives and manufactured misery, I realized that every single brick in Rosalyn’s kingdom had been bought with lies.

And now, every brick was about to come crashing down on their heads.
