Chapter 14 - The Rebuilding of a Sanctuary and Healing Leo

Following the trial, Leo and I returned to our Lincoln Park penthouse to begin our new life.
I completely remodeled the interior: replacing the dark, sterile modern furniture with warm white oak, soft linen sofas, vibrant modern art, and large indoor plants that filled every room with light and life.
We built a massive architectural design studio in Leo’s playroom, filled with thousands of wooden building blocks, 3D modeling kits, and an expansive drafting table where Leo and I spent our Sunday afternoons designing miniature futuristic cities together.
Leo flourished.
His laughter filled the hallway again. His soccer team won the regional junior championship, and his school grades soared to the top of his class.
