Chapter 14 - The Final Bloodline War That Cemented Our Future

With the Moretti syndicate completely dismantled and their leadership behind federal bars, Hayes Enterprises solidified its undisputed dominance across the entire eastern seaboard.
Over the next six months, Ronan systematically divested his empire from any underground connections, transitioning every asset into legitimate global shipping, renewable energy, and international philanthropic ventures.
He did it for us. He did it so our future wouldn't be built on shadows, but on legitimate, enduring light.
On a warm spring evening in May, Ronan took me down to the historic harbor district where we had first met.
We walked along the newly renovated pier, the ocean breeze carrying the fresh scent of the sea. The sun was setting over the water, painting the sky in breathtaking shades of gold, rose, and violet.
Ronan stopped near the edge of the pier, turning me toward him.
He was dressed in a tailored navy suit, looking as breathtakingly handsome as the first night I saw him in the Obsidian Room.
“Sadie,” Ronan said, his voice deep, resonant, and overflowing with genuine emotion. “A year ago, you were counting crumpled five-dollar bills beneath a loose floorboard, dreaming of freedom.”
He reached into his breast pocket and pulled out a velvet box.
“You gave me a reason to build a better world. You taught me that true strength isn't about how much power you hold over other people—it’s about how fiercely you protect the people you love.”
Ronan dropped down on one knee onto the wooden planks of the pier.
He opened the velvet box, revealing an extraordinary, flawless four-carat cushion-cut diamond ring set in platinum, surrounded by delicate pavé emeralds that matched his mother’s heirloom necklace.
“Sadie Vance, will you do me the absolute honor of becoming my wife, my partner, and the queen of my life?”
Tears of pure, unbridled joy streamed down my cheeks. I covered my mouth with both hands, nodding frantically as my heart soared.
May you like
“Yes!” I cried out, throwing my arms around his neck as he stood up. “Yes, Ronan! A thousand times yes!”
Ronan laughed, sliding the magnificent diamond onto my ring finger before lifting me into his arms and spinning me around on the pier, the golden sunset washing over us as the entire harbor broke into applause.
