Chapter 5 - Turning the Tables with Hard Drive Evidence

Linda Vance recovered her composure quickly, stepping forward with her chin raised in haughty defiance. "Marcus, how dare you storm into a closed judicial conference? Donald, have these people arrested for contempt of court immediately!"
Judge Henderson shifted uncomfortably in his seat, his eyes darting to the federal marshals. "Mr. Carter, Mr. Whitaker, this is highly unorthodox. If you have an objection to this custody petition, you must file a formal motion—"
"Save your breath, Judge Henderson," James Whitaker interrupted coldly, dropping a heavy three-hundred-page federal dossier onto the table with a loud thud. "This is not a custody hearing. This is the execution of a federal subpoena and emergency injunction issued forty-five minutes ago by Chief District Judge Robert Sterling of the United States District Court for the Central District of California."
Linda gasped. "Federal court?! On what grounds?!"
"On the grounds of wire fraud, bank fraud, interstate money laundering, identity theft, and grand conspiracy," James stated, opening the binder. "Attached here are the digital forensics from Vance Crest LLC, the Delaware shell corporations, and the original unedited audio recordings of you, Linda, and your son Blake discussing the exact method you used to drug Madison and forge her signature on the deed to the Pasadena estate."
Blake’s knees visibly buckled. "Where did you get that... that’s impossible!"
"Victor Ramos sends his regards," I said with a cold, unforgiving smile.
Connor lunged forward, pointing a trembling finger at Madison. "She’s unstable! She’s an unfit mother! She abandoned our son in the middle of the night!"
Madison took a step forward, looking at her husband not with fear, but with absolute disgust. "You threw me out into the street without a wallet, Connor. You took my phone, you threatened to destroy my life, and you told me I would die in the gutter. But you forgot one thing: my father built an empire from nothing, and unlike you, I have his blood running through my veins."
James turned to the lead federal marshal. "Judge Henderson has been named as a co-conspirator in a systematic judicial bribery ring. Here is the asset ledger showing three separate payments of $150,000 made from Apex Global Holdings to Henderson’s offshore trust in the Cayman Islands."
Judge Henderson dropped his fountain pen, his face turning an ashen gray. He slumped back into his leather chair, completely speechless.

"You're bluffing!" Linda shrieked, her voice cracking in hysteria. "You can't prove anything! My family runs Pasadena! We have friends in the state capitol! You will pay for this, Marcus!"
"No, Linda," I said quietly, leaning across the table until my face was inches from hers. "You are the one who is going to pay. Every single cent. With interest."
