Chapter 14 - The Execution BroadcastThe screens didn't display the gala’s sponsor logos. They illuminated with undeniable, damning evidence.

It was a digital masterpiece of public execution. The screens displayed the wire transfer receipts, the IP logs tying the black-market VIA clone network directly to Arthur’s personal servers, and the internal emails where he explicitly paid bribes to labor officials to forge the workplace rules for my representative office.
The entire gala erupted into shocked gasps and furious whispers. The billionaires who had been toasting Arthur moments ago physically stepped away from him, looking at him with absolute disgust.
“You are a corporate terrorist, Arthur,” I said, my voice echoing through the silent, captivated room. “You tried to use fake compliance laws and digital bots to steal my empire. But you forgot one fundamental rule of real estate.”
Arthur glared at me, his chest heaving, his face drained of all color. “What?”
“The strongest foundation always wins,” I whispered.
“INTERPOL! Nobody move!”
The command thundered through the grand ballroom. From the stairwells and the main entrances, dozens of heavily armed European federal agents swarmed the room. Laser sights danced across Arthur’s chest and his security team’s heads.
Arthur stood frozen, the crystal champagne glass slipping from his hand and shattering on the marble floor. He looked at the swarm of agents, and then he looked at me. The absolute, soul-crushing realization that an American woman he considered completely beneath him had entirely dismantled his syndicate finally broke him.
Agents tackled him, violently forcing his arms behind his back to snap heavy steel handcuffs onto his wrists. He didn't fight. He was a hollow, empty shell of a man.
As they dragged Arthur away, reading him his rights for international wire fraud, racketeering, and cyber-sabotage, Julian walked up beside me. He wrapped a strong, comforting arm around my waist, pulling me tight against his solid chest.
“The European authorities just notified Meta’s legal team,” Julian murmured in my ear, his deep voice sending a grounding warmth through my soul. “Your Business Manager accounts have been fully restored. The permanent lock is gone. The foreign investors just wired the funding for the Sterling Tower.”
I leaned back into his embrace, taking a deep, unburdened breath. Arthur Vance had tried to convince the world that I was a fraud. He had built a digital guillotine to cut off my head, and he had tripped the blade on his own neck.

“He thought he was playing a game of checkers,” I smiled, turning in Julian's arms to look up into his dark, intelligent eyes.
Julian chuckled, a rich, deep sound that made my heart flutter. He reached up, gently brushing a stray lock of hair behind my ear. “He didn't realize the Queen was playing chess. Let's go home, Elena.”
