Chapter 14 - THE FINAL SUNSET

The penthouse overlooking New York City glowed in the golden light of dusk.

Sarah stood by the floor-to-ceiling windows, holding a glass of champagne.

Julian walked in, handing her a final dossier.

“All federal liquidation proceedings are officially finalized,” Julian announced with a wide smile.

“And Valeria?” Sarah asked quietly.

“Serving a ten-year sentence upstate,” Julian replied. “No visitors, no special treatment.”

Sarah nodded slowly.

She looked at her reflection in the crystal-clear glass.

She wasn’t the quiet, submissive wife who sat at that dining table weeks ago.

She was a commander.

A queen who had survived the fire and claimed the crown.

“We did it, Julian,” Sarah whispered.

“You did it, Sarah,” Julian corrected her gently.

She raised her glass toward the sprawling city skyline.

The rain had stopped completely.

The night sky was clear, bright, and filled with endless stars.
