Chapter 2 - The Ironclad Infidelity Clause and the Ghost Accounts

Diane leaned back in her leather executive chair, letting the weight of the document sink in.
“Read it out loud, Simone,” Diane commanded gently.
Simone’s eyes tracked the dense legal text. “In the event that the Husband, Harrison Blake, engages in proven acts of marital infidelity, emotional or physical betrayal, or fraudulent dissipation of joint assets during the term of the marriage—specifically while the Wife is carrying a legal heir of the Blake estate—all rights to separate Blake Family Trust holdings, commercial real estate portfolios, and controlling voting shares in Blake Enterprises shall be forfeited and transferred irrevocably to the Wife as the primary guardian of the unborn heir.”
Simone lifted her head, stunned. “His father wrote this?”
“Old Arthur Blake didn't trust his son,” Diane explained with a razor-sharp grin. “Arthur Blake built an empire out of blood, sweat, and ruthless discipline. He knew Harrison was a reckless, arrogant playboy who thought he was untouchable. Arthur inserted this clause to ensure that if Harrison ever disgraced the family name or abandoned his pregnant wife, the empire would pass directly to the grandchild and the mother protecting that child. Harrison was so arrogant when he signed this seven years ago that he never believed he’d get caught.”
“He thinks he’s a mastermind,” Simone murmured, her mind racing. “He thinks I’m just a sweet, naive philanthropist who smiles for the cameras and goes to baby doctor appointments while he launders millions to Natasha.”
“He’s about to find out how wrong he is,” Diane said, pulling out a legal pad. “To execute Clause 22 with zero possibility of appeal, we need three undeniable pillars: First, irrefutable photographic and video evidence of the physical affair. Second, forensic paper trails proving the $2.4 million siphoned into Sapphire Holdings LLC. And third, the hammer—we catch them in flagrante delicto while you remain entirely composed.”
“I want more than just my share of the money, Diane,” Simone said, her voice dropping into a dangerous, icy register. “He stole from our unborn child. He brought my best friend into our home, let her touch my stomach, let her celebrate my pregnancy while they laughed behind my back. I want every asset, every property, every share of Blake Enterprises. I want them both left with absolutely nothing.”
“Then we go to work,” Diane said, picking up her phone. “I’m bringing in Marcus Kane.”
Thirty minutes later, Marcus Kane walked into Diane’s office. Marcus was a former federal investigator turned high-stakes private intelligence operative. He was lean, quiet, and carried the unmistakable presence of a man who knew how to uncover skeletons buried under concrete.
“Marcus,” Diane said, handing him Natasha Chin’s file and Harrison’s daily schedule. “I need twenty-four-hour surveillance on Harrison Blake and Natasha Chin. I want audio, high-definition video, GPS tracking on all vehicles, and hidden cameras inside the luxury downtown penthouse Harrison bought her on 4th and Elm.”
Marcus glanced at the files, his expression impassive. “The penthouse on 4th and Elm is registered under Sapphire Holdings LLC?”
“Yes,” Simone replied.
“Then as the legal co-owner of the marital funds used to purchase the property without your consent, you have legal standing to authorize entry for security inspections,” Marcus noted, closing the folder. “I’ll have hidden lenses in the master bedroom, the living room, and the elevator foyer before dinner tonight. By tomorrow morning, you’ll have a live 4K feed of everything they do.”
“Do it,” Simone commanded.
Leaving Diane’s office, Simone took a deep breath of the brisk morning air. Her phone buzzed in her purse.
It was Harrison.
She waited three rings before sliding the screen to answer. “Hello, Harrison.”
“Good morning, beautiful,” Harrison’s voice was warm, effortless, and dripping with false affection. “How’s Tanya? Did you guys finish planning the baby shower decorations?”
“Almost,” Simone answered, keeping her tone light and airy. “We’re finalizing the guest list today. Tanya thinks we should do a lavish garden theme with white roses and orchids.”
“Whatever you want, sweetheart. Nothing is too good for my wife and our baby girl,” Harrison said smoothly. “Listen, honey, I have a massive corporate board dinner tonight with our overseas maritime logistics partners. It’s going to run very late. Don’t wait up for me at the estate, okay? You should stay another night at Tanya’s so you get plenty of rest.”
“A maritime logistics dinner?” Simone asked, a faint, bitter smile playing on her lips. “Sounds exhausting, darling.”
“It’s the price of building an empire for our family,” Harrison sighed dramatically. “I’ll make it up to you this weekend. I love you, Simone.”
“I know you do, Harrison,” Simone replied. “Have a productive night.”
She ended the call.
Her hands were steady. There were no tears, no shaking. The heartbreak that had ripped through her chest twelve hours ago had crystallized into diamond-hard resolve.

Harrison thought he was sending his pregnant wife away so he could spend the night celebrating with Natasha in their secret $2 million penthouse.
He had no idea that tonight, he was walking straight into a digital guillotine.
