Chapter 13 - The Criminal Trial in Federal Court

Six months later, the criminal trial of Julian Vance and Camilla Price concluded in the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts.

The courtroom was packed to the brim with reporters, former employees, and business leaders.

The federal judge delivered the sentence with absolute, uncompromising sternness:

"Julian Vance, you used your position of corporate trust to systematically embezzle millions, betrayed your marriage vows with brazen cruelty, and attempted to destroy the very company that fed eight hundred families. You have shown no integrity, no honor, and no remorse.

For the charges of federal wire fraud, money laundering, and grand larceny, I sentence you to eighteen years in a federal penitentiary without the possibility of parole."

"Camilla Price, for your active conspiracy, grand larceny, and corporate fraud, I sentence you to twelve years in a federal correctional institution."

The gavel struck the sounding block with a loud, final CRACK.

Camilla shrieked, collapsing into her attorney's arms, while Julian stared blankly at the floor as the heavy chains rattled around his ankles.

Justice had been served. Complete, permanent, and absolute.
