Chapter 12 - THE HOSPITAL WING

The private maternity wing at St. Vincent’s had been entirely secured by Moretti guards.

No reporters. No outsiders. Only the hum of sterile monitors and the frantic energy of a delivery room in motion.

For four agonizing hours, Isabella labored through the storm while Adrien stood beside her bed, refusing to let go of her hand, whispering encouragement through every wave of pain.

"Push, Isabella! One more time!" Dr. Harrison urged, her voice steady and professional.

Isabella gripped the metal rails of the bed, screaming as she pushed with every ounce of strength she possessed.

And then—a sharp, piercing cry echoed through the room.

The crisp, unmistakable sound of new life.

Dr. Harrison smiled, lifting a tiny, squirming bundle wrapped in a pale pink blanket. "Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Moretti. You have a healthy, beautiful baby girl."

Tears spilled over Isabella’s lashes as she collapsed back against the pillows, breathless and trembling.

Dr. Harrison placed the infant gently onto Isabella’s chest.

The baby had a full head of dark hair and tiny, perfect fingers that immediately curled into a fist against Isabella’s collarbone.

Adrien stared down at the tiny face, his breath catching in his throat.

The fierce, terrifying mafia boss—the man who had hunted down enemies across continents and dismantled syndicates with a word—stood frozen, a single tear cutting a clean path down his cheek.

He reached out with a trembling finger and touched the baby's tiny cheek.

"Welcome home, little one," Adrien whispered, his voice thick with emotion.
