Chapter 14 - A New Symphony in an Open House

The day before our wedding, the Lake Forest estate underwent its final, beautiful transformation.
The heavy steel security shutters that had blocked the grand windows for years were permanently removed, allowing natural sunlight to flood every corridor and grand hall. The dark, imposing mahogany furniture in the central living areas was replaced with warm, inviting ivory sofas, vibrant floral arrangements, and open French doors leading to the blooming rose gardens.
In the center of the grand foyer, resting on a pedestal of polished white marble beneath the crystal chandelier, stood Sofia’s white swan music box.
It was no longer hidden in a dark corner or associated with fear. The brass key had been polished to a brilliant gold, and beside it stood a framed photograph of Sofia, smiling brightly in a field of sunflowers.
Isabella and Ellie stood before the pedestal, dressed in matching white lace flower-girl dresses, admiring the music box.
“Mommy Sofia is happy in heaven now,” Isabella said softly to Ellie. “She sent Clara to us so Daddy wouldn't be lonely anymore.”
Ellie nodded earnestly, adjusting the flower crown on Isabella’s head. “And Mommy Clara loves you just as much as she loves me. That means we have two mommies watching over us.”
I stood at the top of the grand staircase, wearing a silk dressing robe, watching our daughters with an overflowing heart.
Vincent walked up behind me, wrapping his strong arms around my waist, resting his chin on my shoulder. “Are you ready for tomorrow, Mrs. Moretti?”
May you like
“I’ve been ready for five years, Mr. Moretti,” I smiled, leaning back against his chest. “I just didn't know it until you held my hand.”
Vincent chuckled, his deep baritone vibrating against my back. “Tomorrow, the whole world will watch me marry the greatest woman who ever lived.”
