Chapter 13 - Bloodied Vows in the Catacombs of Chicago

Hell erupted inside the grain terminal.
Dante dove forward, retrieving a backup weapon from his ankle holster, and fired three rapid shots, dropping two snipers from the catwalk above.
Simultaneously, the skylights above shattered in a rain of glass as Enzo and Dante’s elite tactical operators rappelled into the building, unleashing a devastating storm of suppressive fire on the remaining Santoro mercenaries.
“Kill them all!” Rocco shrieked, scrambling behind an iron pillar while dragging Marco by the collar toward the underground catacombs of the facility.
“Dad!” Sienna bolted forward, ignoring the gunfire around her.
“Sienna, stay down!” Dante shouted, eliminating two charging gunmen before sprinting after her into the dark tunnels beneath the terminal.
The underground catacombs were a labyrinth of rusted pipes and dripping water. Sienna followed the sound of her father’s labored breathing, rounding a corner just as Rocco threw Marco onto the ground.
Rocco turned, his face bloody from shattered glass, aiming his gun straight at Sienna’s chest. “If I’m going down, you’re coming with me, you little bitch!”
Before Rocco could pull the trigger, Sienna pulled the small pistol from her pocket and fired.
The bullet struck Rocco’s shoulder, making him stumble back with a scream of agony, his gun flying from his grip into the flooded floor.
Rocco lunged toward her with a combat knife, but out of the darkness, Dante materialized like an avenging demon.
Dante slammed into Rocco, pinning him against the concrete wall. With brutal efficiency, Dante disarmed him, driving a series of devastating blows into the mobster’s ribs and face until Rocco collapsed to his knees, broken, gasping for air.
Dante stood over his lifelong enemy, his chest heaving, his gun pointed directly between Rocco’s eyes.
“This is for my father,” Dante said, his voice cold as a winter grave. “And for threatening my wife.”
