Clara looked around the luxurious penthouse.

Gold accents.

Immaculate art.

Absolute power.

Yet she felt entirely trapped.

“You’re blackmailing me,” Clara whispered.

“I am negotiating,” Lorenzo replied smoothly.

“You have no leverage.”

“I have my dignity.”

“Dignity doesn't buy insulin for Maya,” Lorenzo countered.

His words hit her like physical blows.

She knew he was right.

Maya’s condition required thousands of dollars in monthly treatments.

Working sixteen hours a day at the Obsidian Lounge barely covered groceries.

“Let me see my sister first,” Clara demanded.

“Dr. Evans cleared her an hour ago,” Lorenzo said.

“She is resting in the guest suite down the hall.”

He pressed a button on his desk intercom.

“Mrs. Gable, bring Miss Vance to the east wing.”

A minute later, the heavy oak door opened.

An elderly housekeeper entered, nodding politely.

“This way, Miss Vance.”

Clara hesitated, looking back at Lorenzo.

“We aren't finished talking,” Clara warned.

“We are just getting started,” Lorenzo replied.
