Chapter 15 - A NEW DAWN

Six months later, the spring sun shone brilliantly over the newly renovated Blackwell-Santoro estate gardens.
The marble pathways were lined with white orchids and blooming jasmine.
A string quartet played softly in the background—not playing in secret under the threat of violence, but playing a joyous waltz celebrating a wedding that the entire city of Boston witnessed with awe and reverence.
Marin Bennett stood in front of the full-length mirror in the master suite.
She wore a breathtaking, hand-tailored white silk wedding gown, her hair swept up in an elegant chignon adorned with small crystal pins.
The door opened, and Rafael Santoro walked in.
He wore a classic black tuxedo, his dark hair neatly combed, looking every bit the powerful syndicate leader who had conquered an empire—and the man who had given her his entire heart.
He stopped dead in his tracks, staring at her with undisguised adoration.
"You take my breath away," he whispered, walking slowly across the room.
"You used to say I was just a waitress hiding in a kitchen," Marin teased softly, turning to face him with a radiant smile.
"You were never just a waitress, Marin," Rafe replied, taking her hands in his.
"You were the queen I didn't know I was waiting for."
Downstairs, three hundred guests waited—judges, politicians, international business leaders, and loyal estate staff who now managed the most powerful philanthropic foundation on the East Coast.
Her mother was seated in the front row of the VIP pavilion, healthy, smiling, and surrounded by top-tier medical care funded by an endowment that would never run dry.
The Marcone syndicate was nothing more than a fading memory in federal prison records.
And the brutal, isolated world Rafe had once ruled alone was now filled with light, laughter, and unbreakable love.
Rafe leaned down and kissed her softly on the lips.
"Are you ready, Mrs. Santoro?" he murmured against her mouth.
Marin looked into his dark, loving eyes, feeling the absolute peace and absolute power of her new life.
"I've never been more ready in my life, Rafe."

Hand in hand, they walked out of the master suite and down the grand staircase toward their future.
