Chapter 15 - Beyond the Auction: The Billionaire's Forever Vow

One year later.
The historic Santos Memorial Art Center stood proudly in the heart of the city's cultural district—a magnificent, glass-and-limestone institution fully funded and endowed by Blackwood Enterprises, dedicated to providing free art education, medical aid, and shelter to underprivileged youth.
Today was its grand opening.
Inside the grand central gallery, hundreds of guests, international artists, and community leaders gathered in celebration. On the main wall hung a breathtaking, fully restored oil painting of a sunrise over the Atlantic Ocean—the final masterpiece painted by my father, David Santos, before he passed away.
"Ladies and gentlemen," Sebastian’s resonant voice echoed through the microphone at the podium. He looked breathtaking in a tailored black tuxedo, his arm wrapped firmly around my waist. "Eight years ago, a humble artist taught me that the true measure of a man's wealth is not the balance of his bank accounts, but the lives he protects and the love he leaves behind."
Sebastian looked down at me, his eyes overflowing with adoration.
"Today, my wife Maria and I dedicate this foundation to the memory of David Santos, and to every child who needs a second chance at life."
The crowd erupted into thunderous applause.
Standing in the front row was Diego, looking handsome in his little suit, completely healthy, laughing alongside Patricia Monroe, who was now the Chief Executive Director of the foundation.
As the orchestra began to play a slow, romantic waltz, Sebastian led me onto the polished hardwood dance floor beneath the grand glass dome.
The city lights glittered outside, but inside his arms, the entire universe felt quiet, safe, and infinite.
"Do you remember what you said to me the night of the auction?" I whispered, resting my head against his shoulder as we swayed to the music.
Sebastian smiled softly, his lips brushing against my temple. "I said you hadn't changed at all."
"And you were wrong," I murmured, looking up into his piercing gray eyes. "That night, I was a terrified girl with twenty dollars in my pocket, ready to sell my soul to save my brother."
"And today?" Sebastian asked, his hands tightening possessively and tenderly around my waist.
"Today," I smiled, wrapping my arms around his neck, my diamond ring catching the golden light of the chandeliers, "I am the happiest woman in the world, dancing with the man who bought my freedom and stole my heart forever."
Sebastian leaned down, his lips meeting mine in a sweet, eternal promise of love, devotion, and family.
The auction was over.
