Chapter 15 - The New Beginning, A True Partner, And Absolute Justice

Two years later.

The sprawling glass headquarters of Parker Global Aerospace overlooked the Potomac River in Washington D.C.

Under our direct leadership, the company had become the world leader in ethical defense technology, providing free advanced medical monitoring systems to over fifty thousand military veterans and their families worldwide.

On a warm, golden Saturday evening in June, the private terrace of the Cole-Parker estate in Great Falls was alive with the joyous music of a live jazz quartet, the laughter of friends, and the fragrance of blooming white jasmine and roses.

Over two hundred guests gathered to celebrate the grand opening of the Thomas & Eleanor Parker Foundation for Pediatric Cardiology.

Ethan, now twenty years old and top of his class at West Point, raised his glass in a heartfelt toast to the crowd.

“To my sister Claire,” Ethan smiled, his eyes brimming with love. “The bravest soldier, the fiercest protector, and the woman who gave me life twice.”

The guests cheered and applauded as Harrison and I stood together by the stone balustrade overlooking the moonlit river.

Harrison wore a tailored tuxedo, looking down at me with deep, unwavering love.

He wrapped his strong arms around my waist, pulling me gently against his chest, his thumbs brushing against the platinum wedding band on my left hand.

“A penny for your thoughts, Mrs. Cole?” Harrison murmured softly against my hair.

I smiled, resting my head against his shoulder, looking up at the endless field of stars shining brightly above the Potomac.

I thought of the exhausted young woman who had walked into that hospital on a rainy Thursday years ago, counting pennies to buy heart medicine for her brother.

I had given a stranger two units of blood.

And in return, that stranger had given me justice, restored my family’s name, healed my brother, and given me a love that would protect my heart for all the days of my life.

“I was just thinking, Harrison,” I smiled, looking into his beautiful steel-blue eyes, “that the greatest mission of our lives was just the beginning.”

Harrison leaned down, his lips meeting mine in a deep, passionate kiss beneath the starlit sky, our souls bound together in unbreakable strength, honor, and limitless peace forever.

THE END
