Chapter 12 - General Sterling’s Treasonous Last Stand

The final conspirator in the treasonous ring was Major General Arthur Sterling—the corrupt base commander who had accepted twenty million dollars in kickbacks to bury the initial accident reports twelve years ago.

At 14:00, General Sterling was summoned to the Pentagon’s central courtyard under the pretense of an emergency Joint Chiefs briefing.

When he arrived, he found four full-bird Military Police colonels waiting for him on the parade ground.

Before five hundred assembled officers, General Sterling’s two-star rank insignia were physically stripped from his epaulets, his military sidearm was confiscated, and he was remanded to the custody of the United States Disciplinary Barracks at Fort Leavenworth to face general court-martial for capital treason.

The military establishment had been completely cleansed of the corruption that had cast a shadow over my father’s legacy for twenty years.
