Chapter 7 - The Hostile Confrontation

At 4:00 p.m., the heavy iron gates of Grandpa Arthur’s estate opened, and my father's Mercedes sedan roared up the driveway, its tires screeching against the packed snow.
My mother, Helen, and my father, Richard, burst through the front doors of the mansion, their faces pale and desperate. Lauren followed close behind, her eyes wild with a mixture of anger and panic.
"Arthur!" Helen screamed as she entered the foyer, her voice echoing off the high ceilings. "Where is Madison? Where is my daughter? She’s stole our cards! She’s trying to destroy this family!"
Grandpa Arthur stood at the top of the sweeping marble staircase, his hands resting on the dark oak railing. He didn't look angry; he looked like a king preparing to banish a group of peasants.
"You have five seconds to lower your voice, Helen," Arthur said, his voice quiet, yet carrying the force of a hurricane. "Or my security team will drag you out of this house by your hair."
Richard stepped forward, his hands raised in a pleading gesture. "Arthur, please. There’s been a misunderstanding. Madison has been under a lot of stress. She’s been hallucinating, making up these crazy stories about her inheritance—"
"I have the forensic audits, Richard," Arthur interrupted, walking slowly down the stairs. "I have the forged power of attorney. I have the bank signatures. And I have the video recording from the boutique where Lauren used Madison’s baby fund to buy a designer handbag."
The foyer went dead silent.

Lauren’s face turned from red to a pale, ghostly white. She stepped behind her mother, her hands trembling.
"You took the car I bought for my granddaughter," Arthur said, stopping just inches from Richard. "You forced her to walk in the freezing cold with a newborn baby. You stole her grandmother's legacy to fund your daughter's lavish lifestyle. You are not parents, Richard. You are parasites."
