Chapter 15 - The Vow We Kept Forever

One year later.
The private garden of the Moretti estate in the Hamptons was alive with the scent of blooming white peonies, salt air, and soft ocean breezes.
Unlike our first wedding, which had been a lavish, cold corporate spectacle filled with business associates and media cameras, this ceremony was intimate. Only our closest friends, Marco, and our trusted team were present.
Standing at the end of the flower-lined aisle beneath an arch of white roses was Adrian.
He wore a tailored black tuxedo, looking more handsome and grounded than ever before. In his arms was fourteen-month-old Grace, dressed in a miniature lace dress, clapping her tiny hands and giggling as she pointed at the ocean waves.
The string quartet began to play a gentle, acoustic melody.
I stepped onto the aisle, wearing a flowing, off-the-shoulder silk gown that caught the summer breeze. My heart was full, beating with a steady, serene joy that I had never known in my youth.
When Adrian looked up and saw me, the breath caught in his throat. His eyes shone with that same fierce, devoted love that had saved our family from the brink of destruction.
As I reached the altar, he handed Grace gently to Marco, took both of my hands in his, and looked into my eyes.
"Claire," Adrian spoke, his deep voice carrying clearly over the sound of the ocean waves. "Four years ago, I promised to provide for you, but I failed to protect your heart. I let fear, pride, and silence build walls where there should have been bridges. I almost lost the greatest treasure in this universe because I was too blind to see that love is not a weakness—it is the only true strength."
He slipped a platinum wedding band beside the diamond on my finger.
"Today, in front of our daughter and the sea, I vow to choose you every single day. I vow to listen to your dreams, to hold you through every storm, and to love you with an open, unprotected soul for the rest of my days. You are my home, Claire. You are my redemption."
Tears of pure happiness welled in my eyes as I placed my ring onto his finger.
"Adrian," I said, my voice strong and full of love. "We walked through the fire of heartbreak, betrayal, and separation, and we found each other on the other side. You fought for our daughter, you fought for my honor, and you tore down your own walls to become the man I always knew was inside. I choose you today, tomorrow, and for all of our tomorrows. You are my heart, my husband, and my forever."
"By the power vested in me," the officiant smiled warmly, "I now pronounce you husband and wife. Adrian, you may kiss your bride."
Adrian didn't hesitate. He pulled me into his arms and kissed me with all the passion, tenderness, and devotion of a man who had won the greatest victory of his life.
Grace clapped her tiny hands, letting out a delighted squeal, making our guests laugh and cheer.
Adrian lifted Grace into his arms with his left hand while keeping his right arm firmly around my waist. Together, we turned toward the sea, our daughter smiling between us, the warm sunshine illuminating the path of our new life.
We had survived the cold. We had beaten the odds.

And as the ocean tide rolled gently onto the shore, I knew with absolute certainty that this time, our love was unbreakable.
