Chapter 15 - The Grand Wedding, The Two-Flavor Ice Cream, and A Life Reborn

One year later.
The Grand Cathedral of St. Michael was filled to capacity with over eight hundred guests.
There were no whispers of mafia wars, no corporate backstabbing, and no fear. The Relli Foundation had completely transitioned its resources into legitimate international shipping, green energy maritime infrastructure, and the largest pediatric charity network in North America.
Soft organ music swelled through the cathedral as the massive wooden doors opened.
Josie walked down the aisle on the arm of Dr. Ogden, who proudly escorted her toward the altar. She looked ethereal in a custom-designed, off-the-shoulder lace wedding gown with a twenty-foot silk train. Her diamond necklace sparkled beneath the stained-glass windows, but the true radiance came from the sheer, uncontainable happiness glowing on her face.
At the altar, Dominic Relli stood waiting, looking impossibly handsome in a midnight-black bespoke tuxedo. His eyes never left Josie’s face, filled with the fierce, protective adoration of a man who had found his heaven on earth.
Standing proudly beside Dominic as the best man was nine-year-old Toby, dressed in a matching miniature tuxedo, his heart beating strong, healthy, and full of life. In the front pew sat Mrs. Hattie Doyle, wearing a magnificent lavender dress—bought for her new five-bedroom suburban home that Dominic had gifted her—wiping tears of joy from her cheeks with a lace handkerchief.
When Josie reached the altar, Dominic took her hands into his, his fingers interlacing with hers.
"You look breathtaking, my love," Dominic whispered.
"You don't look so bad yourself, Chairman," Josie smiled back, a playful sparkle in her eyes.
The archbishop pronounced their vows, and when Dominic placed the platinum wedding band on Josie's finger, he leaned in and kissed his bride with an intensity that brought the entire cathedral to a standing ovation.
The wedding reception at the Relli Seaside Estate was the grandest celebration the city had ever witnessed.
At the center of the grand ballroom stood a massive, ten-tier wedding cake. But right beside the cake was an antique, hand-carved ice cream cart illuminated with fairy lights.
Toby stood behind the cart, wearing a tiny chef's hat, ringing a brass bell.
"Attention everyone!" Toby announced through a microphone. "Official announcement from the Whitaker-Relli family! We have double-flavor ice cream for everyone! Fudge swirl and cookie dough! Nobody is allowed to eat single flavors ever again!"
The guests erupted in laughter and applause.
Dominic and Josie stood on the balcony overlooking the dancing crowd, their champagne flutes touching in a quiet toast.
Dominic looked out at the harbor where Relli ships were sailing peacefully into the twilight, then looked down at his beautiful wife holding his hand.
"Do you remember what you told Priscilla in the lobby that morning?" Dominic asked with a loving smirk.
Josie rested her head against his shoulder, looking down at the sparkling diamond on her finger and the thriving, happy family dancing below.
"I told her I hoped she remembered my face," Josie smiled softly, looking up into the eyes of the man who had given her the world. "Because the next time I walked through those doors, everything was going to change."
Dominic kissed her forehead, wrapping her securely within his warm embrace.

"And it did, my queen," Dominic whispered against her lips. "It changed forever."
