Chapter 13 - Rebuilding Aegis Global

Over the next six months, I poured my heart and soul into transforming Aegis Global Supply.
I didn't manage the company from behind a closed mahogany door. I visited our distribution warehouses across New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut. I met with the forklift drivers, the dispatchers, and the long-haul truckers.
The first executive action I took was raising the minimum hourly wage for all warehouse staff by twenty percent and establishing a comprehensive health and tuition reimbursement fund for employees and their children.
"No young person working for this company will ever have to give up their dream of college because of financial hardship," I announced at our first company-wide town hall meeting.
The workers erupted into thunderous applause. For the first time in decades, morale skyrocketed. Efficiency increased by forty percent, supplier trust was fully restored, and under Mercer Holdings' global network, Aegis Global secured lucrative shipping contracts across Europe and Asia.
Julian stood by my side through every late-night strategy session, offering mentorship, strategic advice, and boundless love. He never tried to overshadow me or take credit for my victories; he simply provided the platform for my natural brilliance to shine.
One evening, after a grueling ten-hour board meeting where we finalized our expansion into green-energy logistics fleets, Julian walked into my office holding a single red rose.
"You've conquered the business world, CEO Bennett," Julian smiled, wrapping his arms around my waist as I stood by the panoramic window overlooking the glittering skyline of New York City. "Now it's time for us to focus on our most important merger."

I turned in his arms, smiling up into the eyes of the man who had changed my life forever. "And what merger is that, Mr. Mercer?"
"Our wedding," he whispered, leaning down to capture my lips in a deep, passionate kiss.
