Chapter 10 - Bloodlines, Betrayal, and the Final Ultimatum

Julian Vale stepped forward, his face purple with rage. "You arrogant little whore! You think putting on a designer dress makes you royalty? You're a beggar who used to clean my sister's makeup brushes!"

Before Julian could take another step, Roman’s massive hand closed around his throat, lifting the multi-millionaire banking heir six inches off the marble floor.

"Speak to Mrs. Marcel with respect," Dante’s voice echoed through the vast ballroom like thunder. "Or I will have your tongue cut out and served on a silver platter to the remaining members of your bankrupt board."

The crowd of two hundred high-society elites trembled.

Victor Vance stepped out from the inner circle of syndicate bosses. He was an older man, gray-haired, with cold, reptile eyes and a silver-tipped walking cane.

"Dante," Victor rasped. "You break syndicate law by bringing a traitor's daughter into our inner sanctum."

Mara stepped forward, pulling a thin gold flash drive from her emerald clutch. She held it up before the assembled mafia capos.

"This drive contains the complete offshore transaction records of Victor Vance from 2015 to present," Mara announced, her voice commanding the entire hall. "It proves he embezzled four hundred million dollars from the syndicate pension funds, laundered it through the Vale banking network, and hired the federal informants who put the Genovese leadership behind bars three years ago."

The syndicate bosses turned toward Victor Vance, their eyes instantly hardening with murderous intent.

Victor’s face went chalk-white. "She's lying! She's a servant!"

"She is my wife," Dante declared, stepping beside Mara and wrapping his arm possessively around her waist. "And she has just sentenced you to death."
