Chapter 11 - The Dismantling

At 2:00 AM, Massimo sat behind the mahogany desk of his Upper East Side estate. Across from him sat four senior corporate attorneys, two forensic accountants, and his chief of security.
"Begin," Massimo said.
The machine moved with terrifying efficiency.
By 2:30 AM, Lombardi Holdings executed a recall clause on all commercial credit lines extended to Hale Enterprises. Forty million dollars in operational liquidity was drained from Grant’s accounts before the European markets opened.
By 3:15 AM, the Board of Directors of the Metropolitan Arts Foundation—prompted by a single phone call from Massimo—convened an emergency virtual meeting. Vanessa Hale was unanimously stripped of her directorship, her consulting contracts terminated for moral turpitude, and her access to luxury vendor partnerships revoked permanently.
By 4:00 AM, Massimo’s investigators submitted an unredacted financial audit to the Federal Trade Commission, revealing that Vanessa and Grant had funneled stolen Lombardi Atelier jewelry designs into offshore shell companies in the Cayman Islands.
