Chapter 10 - THE BETRAYAL UNMASKED
The private jet touched down at Fiumicino Airport under the cover of a starless midnight sky.
A convoy of black SUVs waited on the tarmac.
Within twenty minutes, we rolled through the iron gates of the Moretti family estate on the outskirts of Rome.
No guards stopped us.
Marcus’s men had already neutralized the outer checkpoints with ruthless efficiency.
We marched straight up the grand stone steps of the Moretti villa.
Alessandro kicked the heavy oak front doors wide open.
Bang!
The doors crashed against the interior walls, echoing through the opulent marble foyer.
Don Moretti and Bianca stood in the grand parlor, holding glasses of champagne, surrounded by their remaining guards.
Their celebratory smiles vanished instantly.
“Alessandro?” Bianca gasped, dropping her champagne glass.
It shattered against the marble floor, spraying red wine like blood.
“How... how are you alive?” Don Moretti stammered, reaching for a hidden holster.
“Did you really think a few hired guns in the woods could stop me?” Alessandro asked calmly, walking into the parlor.
He stepped aside, and I walked in right behind him.
Bianca’s face turned the color of ash when she saw me.
“Serena?” Bianca shrieked.
“What is she doing here?”
“She’s here to watch your empire crumble, Bianca,” I said, my voice cutting through the silent room like a razor.
I pulled a flash drive from my pocket and tossed it onto the coffee table in front of Don Moretti.
“What is this?” the old man snarled.
“Every wire transfer, every drug shipment, every federal bribe connecting your family to the illegal syndicates in Milan and Naples,” I answered smoothly.
“And a copy of the security footage from the Venice hotel showing your daughter slipping digitalis into Alessandro’s wine glass.”
Bianca stepped backward, trembling violently.
“It’s a lie!” she screamed.
May you like
“Lies don't have federal case numbers, Bianca,” I replied, smiling coldly.
“And neither do arrest warrants.”
