Chapter 7 - The Diplomatic Extraction: Leaving Phuket via Private Gulfstream G650

Flashback: Fourteen hours earlier at Phuket International Airport.
While Ethan and Evelyn were settling into their commercial flight, sipping champagne and making cruel jokes at my expense, a completely different scene had unfolded on the private tarmac of Phuket International.
The private helicopter from the Amanpuri Resort had landed directly inside the secured perimeter of the VIP terminal. Waiting on the tarmac was a team of Swiss consular officials alongside a contingent of Thai aviation security.
A crisp, newly minted emergency diplomatic passport had been placed into my hand by the Deputy Ambassador himself.
"Madame Sterling," the Swiss official had said with deep respect, bowing slightly. "Your late father, Arthur Sterling, was a great benefactor of international humanitarian missions. The Swiss Confederation and our banking partners are entirely at your service. All clearance protocols for the G650 have been approved. You have priority clearance through international airspace."
I had stepped aboard the Gulfstream G650, where a private chef, an elite secure-communications team, and a medical officer were waiting.
As the jet engines roared to life, propelling the ultra-long-range aircraft into the clouds, I had opened my encrypted laptop. Marcus Vance-Sterling had appeared on the secure video screen within seconds.
"Clara," Marcus had said, his face framed by multiple monitors displaying real-time financial markets. "We have access to every transaction Ethan Vance has executed over the last thirty-six months."
"Show me," I had commanded.
Over the next four hours of flight, the full extent of the Vance family’s deceit was laid bare before my eyes.
Ethan hadn't just been struggling with a boutique firm. He had systematically embezzled over 2.4 million dollars from the corporate accounts underwritten by my blind trust, siphoning the money into offshore accounts in Belize and using it to fund his mother’s lavish lifestyle, expensive jewelry, and speculative cryptocurrency investments that had completely crashed.
Even worse: Evelyn Vance had forged my signature on an irrevocable life insurance policy taken out against my name—a ten-million-dollar accidental death policy with an international travel rider.
They hadn't just abandoned me in Thailand to get rid of an inconvenient wife.
They had stranded me in a remote region hoping I would succumb to illness, accident, or criminal elements in a foreign land without identification—allowing them to return to the United States, file for a declaration of presumptive death after a specified period, and collect a massive insurance payout while seizing what they believed was my estate.
"They didn't just want a divorce, Marcus," I had said, looking at the forged insurance signatures on the screen with cold, lethal clarity. "They wanted me erased from the face of the earth."
"Then we will ensure their erasure is total, complete, and legally irreversible," Marcus had replied.

By the time the Gulfstream had reached cruising altitude over the Pacific, the financial guillotine had been positioned. Every asset, every credit line, every luxury vehicle lease, and every social privilege the Vance family enjoyed was tied directly to legal entities controlled by the Sterling Estate.
With a single digital authorization code from my laptop, I had pulled the pin on their entire existence.
