Chapter 6 - Sienna’s Brother Turns State’s Evidence

At 8:00 a.m., inside the interrogation rooms of the Moakley Federal Courthouse, the dominoes began to fall with devastating speed.

Bradley Brooks—Sienna’s twenty-four-year-old brother, who had been listed as the "Managing Director" of Sienna Horizon LLC in exchange for a promised five-hundred-thousand-dollar kickback—was brought in for questioning by FBI agents.

Bradley took one look at the federal indictment, saw the twenty-year statutory minimums for international money laundering, and burst into tears within forty seconds.

"I didn't know it was illegal!" Bradley wailed, pushing his unlocked iPhone across the metal table. "Arthur told me it was just a standard tax shelter for his divorce! Look at the voice memos! Arthur sent me twenty voice recordings telling me how to sign Eleanor's name on the bank paperwork!"

Agent Marcus Cole listened to the first audio file.

Arthur’s arrogant, drunken voice echoed clearly through the speaker:

“Don't worry about Eleanor, Bradley. She’s an idiot. She signs whatever I put in front of her. By the time she realizes the Panama account is live, Sienna and I will be drinking margaritas on a yacht in Dubai, and Eleanor will be begging on the street.”

Agent Cole smiled—a cold, razor-sharp smile.

"Thank you, Bradley," Cole said. "You just guaranteed that Arthur Vance will spend his retirement in a federal penitentiary."
