Chapter 11 - A Bullet in the Dark

Danny started his new semester at a prestigious private academy for the arts.
With his new cochlear technology and a supportive environment, he blossomed into
an exceptional painter.
His first major gallery piece was hung in the school’s main foyer.
It was a large canvas painted in deep blues and golds.
It depicted two pairs of hands forming shapes of light against a dark, stormy
sky.
He titled it: The Voices We Build.
On the day of the gallery opening, Salvatore arrived in a crisp gray suit.
He stood before Danny’s painting for ten uninterrupted minutes.

Danny beamed with pride.
