Chapter 11 - Unmasking the Judas in the Family

Under the cover of a dense midnight fog, our strike team infiltrated the subterranean tunnels beneath the old textile mill. The air was thick with the familiar, acrid stench of sulfur and chemical resin.
I led Gabriel, Carmine, and twelve heavily armed operatives through the maze of rusted iron pipes and concrete catwalks. Step by step, we navigated the forgotten passages until we reached the sub-basement beneath the main assembly floor.
Through the iron grating above, voices drifted down.
"Where is the girl?" a sharp, haughty voice demanded.
It was Julianna Moretti.
"She’s still at the mansion with Gabriel," Vincenzo Moretti replied. "Once the strike team eliminates Gabriel tonight, we will deal with her. A tragic casualty of the crossfire."
"Good," Julianna said coldly. "The little maid thought she could steal what was mine. I made sure Harrison soaked those stitches in twice the standard dose. If that filthy rat hadn't interfered, Gabriel would have been buried three days ago, and I would be holding the Falcone assets in my name."
Beneath the grating, Gabriel's jaw set like iron. He didn't look angry; he looked entirely devoid of mercy.
Julianna hadn't just been a pawn in her brother's game—she was the architect who supplied the poison directly to Dr. Cole.
Gabriel raised three fingers, signaling the team.
Three.

"Breach!" Gabriel roared.
