Chapter 14 - Restoring Clara’s Future

Six months had passed since the trial.
I stood in front of the mirror in my private room at the Savannah clinic, my hands trembling as the nurse slowly began to unravel the final bandages from my face.
The room was silent, filled with a tense, hopeful anticipation. Daniel and Margaret stood near the door, their eyes locked on me.
"Are you ready, Clara?" Dr. Vance asked gently.
"Yes," I whispered.
The final layer of gauze fell away, and I looked into the glass.
I gasped, tears of pure, overwhelming happiness spilling over my cheeks. The heavy, raised red scars that had covered half my face for ten years were gone. My skin was smooth, soft, and clear, with only a faint, elegant silver line near my jaw to mark where the fire had been.
My mobility was fully restored; I could smile, laugh, and walk without a single trace of pain.
"Oh my god," Daniel whispered, walking forward and taking my hands. "Clara... you are beautiful."

"I have my face back," I sobbed, hugging him tightly. "I have my life back."
"You always had your beauty, Clara," Margaret said, her eyes wet with tears as she wrapped her arms around us. "Now, the world can finally see it."
