Chapter 14 - Restoring the Stolen Crown

Three months later.

The city had undergone a seismic transformation.

With the evidence Julian Vance had preserved, the corrupted high council was completely dismantled. Those who had participated in the treason were either behind bars or permanently exiled.

Under my leadership, the Voss Syndicate was restructured into a legitimate global conglomerate—Voss-Vance Global Enterprises—dominating commercial shipping, clean energy, and international real estate.

The Vance family name was fully cleared. Evelyn was legally restored as the sole heir to her father’s billions, making her one of the most powerful and wealthy women in the hemisphere.

I stood on the glass balcony of the newly constructed Voss-Vance Tower penthouse, looking out over the glittering city skyline. The harbor below was peaceful, ships moving steadily across the deep blue water.

The glass door slid open.

Evelyn walked out onto the balcony, wearing a simple white silk dress that caught the evening breeze. She held two glasses of vintage wine.

“You’re still brooding like a dark mafia prince, Mr. Voss,” she teased, handing me a glass.

“I’m not brooding, Miss Vance,” I smiled, taking the glass and clinking it against hers. “I’m admiring the view.”

“The city looks different from up here,” she murmured, leaning against the railing, looking at the distant lights. “For the first time in my life, I don't feel like I have to look over my shoulder. I don't feel like a ghost anymore.”

“You were never a ghost, Evelyn,” I said softly, stepping closer to her, setting my glass aside. “You were the piece that was missing from this empire. And from my life.”

She turned to face me, her green eyes softening with an emotion so deep, so genuine, that it made all the violence and fire we had endured seem worth every second.

“You could have let me go after we opened the vault,” she said. “You could have given me my inheritance and sent me anywhere in the world.”

“I could have,” I admitted, reaching out to tuck a soft lock of hair behind her ear. “But that would have been the greatest mistake of my life.”

She smiled, a breathtaking, radiant smile that banished every shadow from the past.

“And what is your next move, Boss?” she asked softly.
