Chapter 15 - The Final Victory, Justice Served In Full, And A Brand New Horizon

It was five o'clock on a warm Friday afternoon.
I left the corporate tower early, leaving my executive team to handle the weekend transitions. I got into my car—not the battered minivan, but a sleek, understated navy Porsche Panamera that I had bought with my own hard-earned executive dividend—and drove out toward the coast.
I didn't drive back to the Newton house. Three months ago, I had sold the colonial property, closing that chapter of my life forever.
Instead, I had purchased a breathtaking historic seaside estate overlooking the cliffs of Marblehead. The house had sprawling wraparound porches, floor-to-ceiling bay windows filled with Atlantic ocean light, and a massive garden where Clara could run freely on the grass.
When I pulled up the gravel driveway, the sound of the ocean waves crashing against the rocks below was like a soothing, eternal melody.
Running across the front lawn, chasing a golden retriever puppy we had adopted two months ago, was Clara.
She was laughing with pure, unrestrained childhood joy, her golden curls catching the late afternoon sunlight. Sitting on the porch steps, watching her with a warm smile, was Mrs. Gable, whom I had hired full-time as our private estate manager and beloved family companion.
“Mommy!” Clara shrieked the moment she saw my car.
She ran across the grass, her little sneakers kicking up blades of green, and threw herself directly into my arms. I lifted her high into the air, spinning her around as she giggled against the coastal breeze.
“Look what I made, Mommy!” Clara proudly held up a small, polished sea glass stone she had found on the beach. “It looks like a diamond!”
I looked down at the smooth, translucent blue stone resting in her tiny palm. It held no price tag. It carried no greed, no betrayal, and no stolen vanity. It was pure, beautiful, and real.
“It’s much better than a diamond, my sweet angel,” I whispered, kissing her forehead. “It’s treasure.”
I walked up onto the porch, holding Clara on my hip, and looked out over the vast, shimmering expanse of the Atlantic Ocean.
Flynn Vance was sitting in a six-by-eight-foot concrete cell eight hundred miles away, wearing an orange jumpsuit and counting down the four thousand days remaining on his federal sentence. Selina Moore was serving her time in a minimum-security facility, her youth and vanity stripped away by the reality of a felony record that would follow her for the rest of her life.
Justice had not merely been served; it had been delivered in full, down to the final cent.
I stood on the deck of my home, surrounded by the ocean, the sunset, and the laughter of the daughter who would grow up knowing that her mother was never a victim, but a sovereign queen who built an empire with her own hands.
The sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in brilliant shades of gold, rose, and violet.
