Chapter 4 - The Midnight Shadow In The Office: Finding The Redline Files

At 2:00 AM, while Graham was asleep in the master suite, I walked down the carpeted hallway into his private executive office on the ground floor.
Using a duplicated biometric keycard that Graham had never thought to change, I bypassed the heavy steel security door and accessed his private terminal.
Over the past three months, Graham had grown increasingly distant, frequently meeting behind closed doors with Marcus Kane and several shadowy offshore financiers from Eastern Europe.
I inserted an encrypted flash drive into the terminal and executed a forensic data clone of the Redline Directory.
As the files decrypted on the high-definition monitor, the horrifying reality of what Graham was planning unfolded before my eyes.
Marcus Kane had orchestrated a massive, covert contraband operation. They were planning to use Berth 9—the very dock named in honor of my late father—to smuggle over two hundred million dollars in unregistered heavy munitions and illicit arms shipments through Charleston to international cartels.
Worse, Marcus had drawn up a secondary corporate agreement designed to strip the Sterling Trust of its leasehold authority by staging a fraudulent bankruptcy restructuring of Calloway Shipping Enterprises.
And Graham had reviewed the files.
His digital signature sat at the bottom of the preliminary authorization memos.
He hadn't just mocked our marriage to his associates; he was actively preparing to turn my father’s legitimate harbor into an international black-market smuggling corridor, risking the destruction of my family’s century-old name just to expand his syndicate’s dominance.
I pulled the flash drive from the port, slipped it into my pocket, and closed the terminal.

The time for quiet withdrawal was over.
The war had officially begun.
