Chapter 15 - The Final Harbor Sunset: A New Beginning Written In Real Love

The sun began its slow, breathtaking descent over Charleston Harbor, painting the sky in brilliant hues of violet, amber, and molten gold.
Graham and I walked side by side along the historic Battery promenade, the gentle sea breeze carrying the scent of salt water and blooming jasmine.
We stopped near the stone railing where we had shared our very first kiss twelve years ago.
Graham turned to face me. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small, simple wooden box.
He opened it.
Inside was not a multi-million-dollar diamond intended to show off his wealth to society.
It was a simple, elegant platinum band—identical to the one I had taken off a year ago—with six words newly engraved on the interior:
Now and forever, only for you.
Graham looked into my eyes, his voice soft, steady, and filled with an unbreakable, mature devotion.
“Elena... I don't ask to be your king anymore. I only ask to be your partner, your protector, and the man who spends the rest of his life making sure you never doubt how deeply you are loved.”
I looked at the ring, then looked up into the eyes of the man who had torn down his own pride, dismantled an underworld, and rebuilt himself from the ashes just to stand worthy beside me.
I smiled, holding out my left hand.
“Put it on, Graham,” I whispered softly.
With trembling, reverent fingers, Graham slipped the platinum ring onto my finger. He lifted my hand to his lips, kissing the band with tears of pure joy glistening in his eyes.
He pulled his own father’s restored watch from his wrist, looking at the caseback one last time: Every moment still begins with us.
We stood together by the stone railing, his arm wrapped warmly around my waist, as the evening stars began to shimmer over the peaceful waters of Charleston Harbor.
The past was forgiven. The empire was restored.
