Chapter 6 - Harold Bennett’s Final Trap and the Master Trust Dominic Never Read

The Master of Ceremonies took to the podium, tapping his microphone to silence the thunderous applause in the ballroom.
"Ladies and gentlemen, esteemed guests, and leaders of American commerce," the announcer’s voice boomed. "Please welcome the Chairman of Bennett Harbor Logistics, Mr. Harold Bennett, accompanied by the newly appointed Chief Executive Officer and majority shareholder of Bennett Global Enterprises—Ms. Elena Bennett!"
The applause that followed shook the crystal chandeliers.
Dominic pushed his way to the front of the VIP circle, his face pale and sweat glistening on his forehead. "Wait! Stop this!" he shouted, though his voice was swallowed by the roar of the crowd.
Harold Bennett stepped up to the microphone, his deep, resonant voice filling every corner of the grand hall.
"Fifty years ago," Harold began, smiling down at the crowd, "I bought a single flatbed truck with five hundred dollars borrowed from my mother. I built this company on trust, integrity, and the unbreakable bond of family. For the past seven years, I allowed another man to serve as the public face of our executive operations, believing he shared those values."
Harold’s gaze shifted, piercing straight through Dominic like an iron spear.
"I was mistaken," Harold said simply. "Greed and vanity often blind small men into believing they are giants. But true strength does not shout in boardrooms or hide behind deceit. True strength builds in silence."
Harold turned and extended his hand to his daughter. "It is my greatest honor to officially step down as Chairman and announce that Elena Bennett has assumed one hundred percent ownership and executive control of all Bennett shipping yards, international freight routes, and proprietary logistics platforms across the globe."
Elena stepped to the podium. The room held its breath.
"Good evening," Elena said, her voice silky, calm, and utterly commanding. "To our dockworkers, our logistics engineers, and our global shipping partners: Bennett Enterprises is entering a new era. Tomorrow morning at 8:00 AM, our entire automated logistics network will transition to the Aegis 2.0 proprietary system. All contracts initiated without the express authorization of the Bennett Family Trust over the last twelve months are declared null and void."
Dominic lunged forward toward the stage, breaking through the velvet rope. "Elena! You can't do this! I am your legal husband! I co-own fifty percent of this corporate entity!"
Two New York City police officers, flanked by private security, instantly blocked Dominic’s path, pushing him back against the rope.
Elena looked down at him from the stage, her expression completely serene.
"You don't own fifty percent of anything, Dominic," Elena said into the microphone, her voice echoing clearly through the ballroom. "Marcus, please serve Mr. Marlowe with his copies."
Marcus Cole stepped forward from the wings, handing Dominic a thick, blue legal packet bearing the gold seal of the New York State Supreme Court.
"What is this?" Dominic panted, tearing open the envelope with trembling hands.
"That is a certified notice of an emergency ex-parte annulment and civil asset forfeiture," Marcus Cole announced loud enough for the surrounding socialites and reporters to hear. "Along with a temporary restraining order barring you from coming within five hundred feet of Ms. Bennett, her properties, or Bennett corporate assets."
Vanessa Cross took three rapid steps back from Dominic, distancing herself as press cameras flashed continuously, capturing every agonizing second of his public downfall.
"Vanessa!" Dominic turned to her, grabbing her wrist in desperation. "Tell them! Tell them we have the offshore accounts! We have the capital in the BVI!"

Vanessa yanked her arm out of his grasp with open disgust. "Don't touch me, Dominic! I have nothing to do with your corporate fraud! I was only an independent contractor!"
Elena watched the spectacle from the podium, took a delicate sip of her champagne, and said into the microphone: "Enjoy the rest of your evening, everyone. The bar is open."
