Chapter 15 - A NEW DAWN AND FOREVER — THE END

The wedding was held the following spring at a private estate overlooking Lake Michigan.

There were no corrupt politicians.

No assassins.

No dark alleyways or bleeding wounds.

Just family, laughter, and the quiet, radiant warmth of a future built on truth and survival.

Leo stood proudly at the altar as our ring bearer, wearing a tiny bow tie that matched Roman’s suit perfectly.

When the minister pronounced us husband and wife, Roman pulled me close and kissed me with a tenderness that washed away every shadow of our past.

Later that evening, as the sun dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in brilliant shades of gold and violet, I stood on the grand balcony of our estate.

Roman stepped up behind me, wrapping his arms securely around my waist, pulling me back against his chest.

I looked out at the shimmering expanse of the lake, feeling the steady, strong beat of his heart against my back.

The rainy Chicago alley where we first met felt like a lifetime ago.

The blood, the fear, and the stolen forty-five minutes had nearly destroyed us.

Instead, they had brought us together.

Roman rested his chin gently on my shoulder, breathing in the scent of my hair.

“What are you thinking about?” he murmured.

“I was just thinking about that rainy afternoon,” I smiled, turning slightly in his embrace.

“If I had kept walking past that alley, where would we be?”

Roman tightened his arms around me, his gray eyes shining with absolute peace.

“I would have found you, Megan,” he whispered fiercely.

“In this city, or any other.”

“Because once I knew what an angel looked like, I was never going to stop searching.”

I smiled, leaning up to kiss him softly under the evening stars.

The storm had finally passed.

May you like

And our forever had just begun.

THE END
