Chapter 15 - The Empire's Queen and a Boy's Golden Train: A Grand Beginning for the Moreno-Vance Family

One year later.

The Vance Estate in the Hamptons was alive with music, laughter, and the sweet scent of blooming jasmine.

A massive celebration was underway. Underneath the white silk canopies overlooking the sparkling ocean, hundreds of guests—philanthropists, city leaders, and close friends—gathered to celebrate the official launch of the Moreno-Vance Pediatric Heart Foundation, a charity that had already provided free life-saving surgeries to over five hundred underprivileged children.

Standing at the center of the lawn was Leah Moreno-Vance.

She looked more stunning than ever, glowing with happiness in a bespoke ivory sundress that perfectly accentuated her radiant curves. Around her finger sparkled the magnificent engagement ring, catching the afternoon sun.

"Mom! Dad! Look!"

A healthy, vibrant nine-year-old Matteo came sprinting across the emerald grass, his cheeks rosy with energy, his laughter ringing across the estate. He wasn't running out of breath anymore. His heart beat strong and steady.

In his hands, he held a brand-new toy: a miniature train crafted from solid eighteen-karat gold, custom-made by Julian's jewelers, with the original worn red wooden engine proudly displayed in a glass box inside his room.

Julian caught Matteo in mid-air, tossing the boy high into the sky before catching him with a booming laugh and resting him on his broad shoulders.

"Did you beat Marcus in the race?" Julian asked, grinning up at the boy.

"Easily!" Matteo cheered. "He's too slow!"

Julian lowered Matteo down to run with the other children by the lawn games, then wrapped his arm around Leah’s waist, pulling her flush against his side.

Leah rested her head on Julian's broad shoulder, watching their son run freely under the warm summer sun.

"Happy, my love?" Julian murmured, kissing the top of her head.

"Happier than I ever thought possible," Leah replied, looking up into the eyes of the man who had changed her destiny forever. "From a hotel basement to paradise."

Julian smiled, his sea-green eyes filled with endless adoration. "You saved me from the dark, Leah. You gave me a soul. Everything I have, everything I am, belongs to you."
