Chapter 12 - The Grand Reveal

Evelyn Vance’s face turned from triumphant smugness to a mask of absolute, paralyzed horror.
Julian dropped his leather folder, papers spilling across the floor of the executive box as his knees visibly buckled.
Emily walked to the center of the stage with an elegance and poise that commanded the entire room. She looked out over the sea of five hundred billionaires, executives, and journalists without a single trace of fear.
I stepped back from the podium and extended my hand to her. “Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to introduce Miss Emily Carter. Sole surviving heir of Clara Carter, and the legal, authenticated Chief Trustee of the St. Jude Heritage Foundation.”
The main projection screens behind the stage illuminated instantly.
Displayed in massive, high-definition resolution were the authenticated documents from the Swiss Private Banking vault:
The original trust charters signed by Anthony Moretti.
The certified forensic handwriting analysis from the United States Secret Service confirming the validity of my father’s signature.
The official New York State Department of Records confirmation certifying Emily Carter’s direct, unbroken inheritance of twenty-five percent of Moretti Group’s voting equity.
“As Chief Trustee of the St. Jude Heritage Trust,” Emily spoke into the microphone, her voice clear, powerful, and unwavering, “I cast our entire twenty-five percent voting bloc in total, unconditional support of Chairman Dominic Moretti.”
The room exploded into an absolute frenzy of applause, shouting, and flashing cameras.
With Emily’s twenty-five percent combined with my personal thirty-two percent, we commanded an untouchable fifty-seven percent governing majority.
Evelyn Vance’s hostile takeover had been obliterated in less than sixty seconds.
“This is a fraud!” Evelyn screamed, losing all composure as she lunged toward the stage steps, her face twisted with rage. “Those documents are forged! She is the daughter of a common thief! I will tie this company up in injunctions until you are all ruined!”
“You won't be filing any injunctions, Mrs. Vance,” another voice boomed through the auditorium.
Special Agent David Reynolds of the Federal Bureau of Investigation walked down the center aisle, flanked by eight armed federal agents and the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York.

Reynolds held up a sealed federal warrant.
“Evelyn Vance. Julian Vance. You are both under arrest pursuant to an indictment issued by a grand jury this morning, charging you with wire fraud, corporate forgery, interstate conspiracy, and attempted murder in connection with the armed assault on Fifth Avenue yesterday morning.”
