Chapter 11 - The Secret Crimes in the Basement

On Tuesday afternoon, forensic investigators searching the Sinclair estate made a discovery that elevated the case from a domestic violence prosecution to one of the largest criminal conspiracy cases in Georgia history.
Behind a false bookcase in Richard’s private library, FBI technical agents discovered a reinforced steel door with an electronic keypad.
Inside the hidden room lay an illicit server rack containing thousands of encrypted files, hidden surveillance video feeds from luxury hotels across the state, and financial ledgers documenting a systematic extortion and blackmail operation operated by Richard and his father for over eight years.
"Director Vance," David said, calling me from the scene. "They weren't just politicians and financiers. They were running a high-end corporate blackmail syndicate. They were secretly recording judges, politicians, and business leaders to force them into favorable business deals and regulatory exemptions."
"Does this explain why the local prosecutors refused to investigate Richard's past abuses?" I asked, sitting beside Lily's hospital bed.
"Exactly," David replied. "They had compromising material on the former district attorney and two state judges. Every time a complaint was filed against Richard, the files were quietly buried."

"Ensure those files are delivered directly to the Public Integrity Section at the Department of Justice," I instructed. "I want every single official who protected that monster indicted alongside him."
"It's already being handled, sir. There will be no survivors in this network."
