Chapter 11

The barrel of half a dozen assault rifles pointed straight at them.
Dante didn’t blink.
He simply stopped walking and rested his hands casually on the handle of his cane.
“You think numbers save you, Julian?” Dante asked calmly.
“Numbers, weapons, and federal jurisdiction,” Julian smiled, walking toward them with slow, deliberate steps. “Did you really think I didn't prepare for a family reunion?”
Julian tapped his luxury wristwatch twice.
“Federal marshals are thirty seconds away from raiding this building,” Julian continued, his eyes locking onto Emma. “And they have an arrest warrant for Dante Vance for rackestiering, murder, and financial fraud—backed by comprehensive data files.”
Emma stepped forward, her expression ice cold.
“Those data files are fake,” Emma said clearly.
Julian laughed aloud. “And who are you, little girl? The waitress who thinks she’s a federal prosecutor?”
“I’m the second-year Columbia law student who just uploaded your entire offshore laundering network to the Department of Justice public server,” Emma replied, pulling her laptop out of her bag and setting it on the bar.
She tapped the screen.
“At midnight, an automated script released every single wire transfer, shell company document, and encrypted confession linking Meridian Trust directly to your personal Swiss accounts,” Emma said smoothly. “Including the bribe payments you made to the federal agents currently on your payroll.”
Julian’s confident smile faltered.
For a split second, color drained from his face.
“You lying little—!” Julian lunged forward, drawing a concealed silver pistol from his waistband.
Before Julian’s finger could reach the trigger, Dante moved with blinding speed.
He swept Julian’s legs out from under him with his heavy ebony cane.
Julian crashed hard onto the marble floor, his gun skittering across the polished surface.

Dante placed his boot firmly on Julian’s chest, pressing down with crushing weight.
The six enforcers hesitated, looking at each other in confusion and panic as sirens suddenly began wailing from the street far below.
