Chapter 12 - The Fall of the House of Delacroix

The following month, justice was officially finalized in the United States District Court in Brooklyn.

Julian Delacroix was sentenced to three consecutive life terms without the possibility of parole at ADX Florence in Colorado.

Giselle Delacroix was sentenced to thirty years at the federal correctional facility in Danbury, Connecticut, stripped of all personal wealth, luxury assets, and social status.

Her designer gowns were traded for rough prison denim, her diamond bracelets replaced by handcuffs, and her days spent working in the prison laundry—the very labor she had once mocked and despised.

Under Dante’s direct orders, seventy percent of the seized Delacroix assets were transferred into the newly chartered Maria Caruso & Clara Evans Foundation.

The foundation established fully funded medical research wings for autoimmune diseases, created free healthcare clinics across working-class neighborhoods in New York and New Jersey, and provided full college scholarships for the children of domestic workers.

On the day the foundation opened its doors in Queens, Lily cut the ceremonial ribbon with a golden pair of scissors, surrounded by cheering families and doctors.

I stood beside Dante in the crowd, watching my sister beam with radiant joy, tears of boundless gratitude misting my eyes.

“She has her whole life ahead of her now, Dante,” I said softly, squeezing his hand.

“And so do we, my love,” Dante replied, kissing my temple.
