Chapter 7

Arthur Kensington slammed his hand on the steering wheel.
“You have zero legal proof, Costello!” Arthur shouted. “If you touch us, our syndicates will tear your empire apart from the inside.”
Damian smiled, a cold, dangerous expression that made Victoria shudder.
“Who said anything about touching you?” Damian asked softly.
He raised his phone and tapped the screen twice.
Instantly, the massive digital security screens mounted on the estate gates flickered to life.
Instead of advertisements or estate cameras, audio began broadcasting across the entire compound loudspeakers.
It was a crystal-clear recording from twenty years ago.
A man’s voice—Arthur Kensington’s voice—whispering in the dark.
“Plant the ledger in Joanne’s locker. When Damian’s father checks the safe tomorrow, she’ll take the fall for the missing funds.”
Victoria froze, her breath catching in her throat.
The audio recording continued to play, detailing every single step of the frame-up.
Then came the second recording—from two years ago.
“The accident on Maple Street needs to look like a hit-and-run. Make sure she never reaches Albany.”
Arthur stared at the giant security screens in absolute horror.
“You... you bugged my office?” Arthur stammered, turning to Damian.
“My father taught me never to trust a partner who smiles too much,” Damian replied smoothly.
Victoria tried to push open her door, but two of Damian’s most trusted enforcers stepped out of the shadows, blocking her path.
“You’re not going anywhere, Victoria,” Clara said, her voice steady and lethal.

Arthur lunged across the console, pulling a concealed Glock from his briefcase.
He aimed it straight at Clara’s heart.
