Chapter 13 - A New Legacy for Ashford Landing

Two years later.

The Ashford Landing community center, built on the exact site of the old corporate offices where my father had been framed, stood proudly as a beacon of education, legal aid, and community support.

Inside the Castellano estate nursery, soft lullabies played from a vintage music box.

I stood by the window, cradling our newborn daughter, little Thomasina, named in honor of my late father.

She slept peacefully against my chest, her tiny fingers curled into small fists.

The heavy oak door opened silently.

Emmett walked into the room, having just returned from his downtown meetings.

He had long since traded his heavy tactical gear for comfortable cashmere sweaters and tailored slacks, though the formidable aura of the waterfront king remained entirely intact.

He walked over quietly, wrapping his arms around my waist and resting his chin on my shoulder.

“Is she asleep?” he whispered, kissing the top of my head.

“Like an angel,” I whispered back, leaning into his warm embrace.

Emmett gazed down at our daughter, his stern features melting into an expression of infinite tenderness.

“She has your eyes, Adeline,” he murmured.

“And your stubbornness,” I laughed softly.

He turned me gently in his arms, framing my face with his hands.

“Are you happy?” he asked, his gray eyes searching mine for any trace of lingering shadows.

I looked up at him, feeling the absolute, unbreakable peace that had finally settled over our lives.

“More than I ever dreamed possible,” I whispered.

We had survived the corporate corruption of Dunore.

We had survived the blackmail of Cade Branick.

And we had built an empire of love upon the ashes of our enemies.
