With the full authority of the Sterling estate in my hands, I began the work of transforming my father’s fortune into something that would endure for generations.
I liquidated the commercial office parks in Stamford, generating over $48 million in capital. With those funds, I established the Arthur Sterling Veterans Support Foundation, an organization dedicated to providing free legal aid, transitional housing, and mental health resources to combat veterans returning to civilian life.
The historic Boston brownstone on Beacon Hill became the headquarters of the foundation. The grand library where Arthur had studied was restored to its historic 19th-century elegance, filled with law books, educational resources, and comfortable chairs where young veterans could study, rebuild their careers, and find their footing in the world.
