Chapter 14 - The True Grand Wedding on the Amalfi Coast

One year after the nightmare at the St. Regis, Daniel and I celebrated our love the way it should have been celebrated from the beginning.
On a private cliffside terrace in Positano, overlooking the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean Sea, we renewed our vows before sixty of our closest friends, colleagues, and genuine loved ones.
There were no four hundred fake socialites. There were no microphones used for cruel mockery. There were no stolen trust funds or unpaid vendors.
I wore a breathtaking, custom-embroidered ivory silk gown with a twelve-foot cathedral veil that drifted in the warm Italian sea breeze. Daniel stood at the end of the aisle in a white linen tuxedo, looking at me with the same fierce, unwavering love that had carried me through every storm.
When the priest pronounced us husband and wife, Daniel lifted me into his arms, his laughter echoing against the limestone cliffs as our true friends erupted into genuine, thunderous applause.
As the sun sank into the Mediterranean, painting the sky in shades of violet and gold, we danced on the terrace beneath a canopy of twinkling fairy lights.

“You never have to look back, Meredith,” Daniel whispered against my ear, holding me tight against his chest. “You are safe, you are loved, and you are sovereign.”
“I’m not looking back, Daniel,” I whispered, smiling up into his eyes. “I’m looking right at my future.”
