Chapter 13

The Collapse of the Calloway Dynasty
The final trial lasted three days.
Graham Calloway sat behind the defense table in prison orange.
His hair was uncombed.
His arrogance was entirely gone, replaced by a dull, vacant stare.
When the jury foreman read the verdict—Guilty on all forty-two counts of racketeering, fraud, and conspiracy—Graham didn't even flinch.
The judge slammed his gavel down with a thunderous crack.
“Sentence: Life imprisonment without the possibility of parole.”
The bailiffs grabbed Graham by the shoulders and hauled him toward the subterranean holding cells.
As he passed my front-row seat, he stopped for a split second.
His eyes met mine.
He wasn't wearing his wedding ring anymore.
The federal marshals had stripped it from him during booking.
“Eleanor,” he whispered hoarsely.
“I made you.”
“No, Graham,” I replied, my voice steady and cold as steel.
“I survived you.”
He was dragged away into the dark.
May you like
The courtroom doors slammed shut behind him.
The Calloway dynasty was officially erased from history.
